We had a pretty simple supper, since we were going out later. We had a
salad of cooked, chilled rock shrimp, sliced avocado, and sectioned ruby
grapefruit atop a mix of baby arugula and baby spinach. The dressing was
simply olive oil, lemon juice, and chopped shallot. We heated up a baguette
to accompany it. Very tasty and light.
Later, at our friends' house, we ordered pizza and noshed on Doritos,
Funyons, and assorted chocolates (I brought along the last of Carol's peanut
butter thingies -- the Wheat Thins and PB drenched in chocolate, plus some
sparkling wine and sparkling grape juice). It was a pretty low-key night by
adult standards (though the kids were thrilled...they got to stay up past
midnight, and do the whole horns-hats-streamers-confetti-SillyString
routine).
I should be plotting a great breakfast for hubby and I tomorrow....I'm
counting on the little ones sleeping til at least 11 a.m.
