John- as a last resort, you could always go to a metal shop and have
them fabricate a simplified alternative... basically, just a round
piece of steel with a handle.
I made a bacon press back in welding school (round steel plate w/steel
handle) very easily and i'd imagine they could do the same for little
cost. kev
