Sweet & Sour sauce

1 cup sugar: white, brown, or some of each
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1 chopped green pepper
1/2 cup chopped onion
small can pineapple chunks or tidbits
soy sauce


Simmer together first 5 ingredients about 5 minutes. Combine 2 tsp
cornstarch with 1 Tbsp. cold water, add to hot mixture, stir till
thickened and clear. Stir in 1 rsp. soy sauce or more to taste.
Add pineapple chunks/tidbits, heat through.
