There is nothing wrong with apple pie or chocolate chip cookies, except
that we did not have any on hand. The brownies were not hard on the
outside and undercooked in the middle , though some of the Black Forest
bars were . I had a dozen options for dessert, some of them had been
brought by his mother.

My problem was more with the way he vocalized his disappointment, whining
like a 3 year old. He was over 30. The same nephew had a similar reaction
when he came for my mother's birthday in the summer. I had made a fresh
peach pie, which my mother prefers to birthday cake, and his brother, who
is a chef, had brought a nice cake. The picky eater whine " I don't like
peach pie" and when I suggested the cake " I'm not eating anything he
made". There is no pleasing this kid anyway, so I have no interest in
wasting my time trying. I prefer to go to the effort for people who enjoy
it. The pie was excellent and the other nephew's cake was incredible.
