It's Chinese New Year's Eve today so we went to Dim Sum! There were 7 of us, 3
were born in china, another raised in a chinese family. Now, I love dim sum,
it's my ideal kind of meal, tons of things to try, they're constantly bringing
you new stuff, everything tastes great. Most of the items are little, roundy
and have pork or shrimp or pork AND shrimp, a few beef things (mmmm the
peppery spareribs), and very few vegetables.
The sad thing is that I don't know what anything is called so I am usually
stuck trying to describe them to the waiters when I don't see them "the
things, they're white, they look like footballs...they're chewy!!!" (those are
my favorite).
The highlight today was the traditional lion dance that took place in the
restaurant. They had a huge drum and cymbals and noisemakers and firecrackers
going while the dragony lions danced and snaked their way around the place.
It was a wonderful meal and a wonderful time.
