Here are a few for you.
Lottery
Strawberry Yogurt Smoothie
1 pt. fresh strawberries
1/2 cup orange juice
6 oz. unflavored low-fat
yogurt
4 ice cubes
Trim the strawberries, discarding the stems, and rinse
quickly until running cold water. Combine all ingredients in a
blender and blend until a thick smoothie forms. Makes about 2
cups.
Apple-Berry Smoothie
1 cup ice
2 oz. strawberries, chopped
1 oz. plain low-fat yogurt
2 oz. apple juice
2 oz. blueberry nectar
2 oz. cranapple juice
Blend each drink until smooth in blender and garnish
with fresh fruit.
Citrus Surprise Smoothie
1 cup ice
juice of 1/2 lime
1 oz. plain low-fat yogurt
2 1/2 oz. orange juice
2 1/2 oz. pineapple juice
2 1/2 oz. grapefruit juice
Blend each drink until smooth in blender and garnish
with fresh fruit.
Pineapple-Orange Smoothie
1/3 cup nonfat dry milk
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup canned crushed
pineapple (unsweetened)
1 tsp. vanilla extract
sweetener equivalent to 4 tsp.
sugar
5 to 6 ice cubes
In blender container, combine all ingredients except ice
cubes. Blend until smooth, adding ice cubes one at a time
while blending. Pour into 2 glasses. Makes 2 servings.
Each serving provides: 1 fruit exchange and 1/2 milk
exchange.
Chocolate-Mint Smoothie
2 cup milk
1/4 cup instant cocoa mix
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
1 pt. vanilla ice cream
Heat 1/2 cup milk just until hot. Combine hot milk and
cocoa mix in container of an electric blender. Process until
smooth. Add remaining 1/2 cups milk and flavorings; blend
well. Add ice cream and process until smooth. Yield: 4 cups.
Custard Cream Smoothie
3 eggs
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
3 cup milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla or almond
flavoring
1 cup cream
Beat eggs slightly. Stir in sugar and salt. Add milk
and cream. Cook in double boiler, stirring constantly, until
mixture coats a spoon. Remove from heat. Add vanilla; chill.
Just before serving, beat well with a rotary beater. If
desired, top with whipped cream and garnish with berries in
season. As a special treat, stir in 1/2 pint vanilla or coffee
ice cream just before serving. Makes 6 servings.
