Of course they can, but how many people would think to do so? You're in
the Eastern time zone, and probably the northern hemisphere. It's not
hard to guess what country; there's only a couple of choices and the
difference is not likely relevant. There's no need to get any more
specific unless we start discussing regional dishes. ;-)

They look good, except I don't care much for cucumbers. I do like them
in gazpacho (sp?) or thinly sliced with onions in diluted vinegar (more
as a salad than a pickle)
