I have used canned veggies, but limit it to mushrooms, baby corn, water
chestnuts and bamboo shoots. I prefer fresh mushrooms but the canned
straw mushrooms are convenient when I'm short on time! I dump them into
a screen strainer and rinse them to reduce the salt a bit.
