Default Two, count 'em, two pot lucks in a week?!

We as a department had already planned a pot luck lunch for Monday, 10/6.
Then we get an email yesterday saying, for an early Bosses Day there will be
an I.T. pot luck on Friday, 10/10. That means the entire floor; over 100
people bringing food. Yikes!

I'd planned to take my spicy 5-bean soup on Monday. The recipe is simple,
hearty and filling, using mostly canned beans and prepared in a crock pot
(recipe below).

But suddenly we had TWO pot lucks to deal with next week. So we cancelled
ours on Monday. Question is, should I still take my soup? I know the
recipe doubles easily.

Spicy 5-bean Soup

15 oz. can red kidney beans
15 oz. can chick peas (garbonzo beans)
15 oz. can navy beans
8 oz. can green lima beans
9 oz. pkg. frozen cut green beans
2-1/2 cups beef broth
12 oz. beer
1-2 Tbs. Tabasco Sauce (to taste)
4 Tbs. chili powder
1-1/2 tsp. dried basil
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1 small onion, chopped
1/4 c. uncooked pearl barley
1/2 c. shredded cheddar

Drain and rinse the beans and place them in a crock pot. Add the broth and
stir in the seasonings and onion. Cook on HIGH for 4 hours. Stir in the
barley; cook an hour more or until the barley is tender and has thickened
the soup. Serve sprinkled with shredded cheddar and season with hot sauce
as desired.
