There will always be a large beet-sugar industry
in the U.S., as long as taxpayers are willing
to support it. It would disappear tomorrow
if it was forced to compete in international
markets against cane sugar, BUT THERE'S NO WAY
THAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN.
