I'm sure you've seen it, just didn't register...

If you check at any tile emporium... most all tile manufacturers
produce matching trim and cove tile for each of their products.

There are various configurations but essentially they look like this:

Cove tiles are typically recommended where tile flooring can get wet
and/or the floor will be subjected to wet mopping... like bathrooms and
kitchens.

Naturally you can get by without the tile cove base but it's a much
more functional and nicer looking installation with. I can guarantee
you that if you use wood base moldings for a tiled kitchen floor it
won't be six months and they will look like crap... that is unless you
never spill anything or wash your kitchen floor. You can get by with
vinyl strip cove molding that's set with adhesive, it'll offer some
protection from moisture but it won't look nice with ceramic tile
flooring.

I wouldn't consider installing a tile kitchen floor without the tile
cove molding... adds very little cost (no more than decent wood
molding) and very little additional labor.
