Oh for crying out loud! Don't your newspapers (assuming you have them
where you live) have what is often referred to as an "odd spot"? They'll
run a little piece of the "man bites dog" sort that they've picked up
from AFP or somewhere reporting news from all over the world. It was one
of those, you great Texan lummox.

That goldfish story wasn't a headline - if you'd bothered to go to
news.com's home page you would have seen that the headline was the
trapped miners (a gripping drama which probably hasn't reached Texas).
How the story ever got reported in NZ in the first place is a mystery,
and certainly leads to speculation about what is newsworthy in NZ.
