Default Problem with my apple pie

I always use granny smith's apples, and I use three to five of them,
depending on their size when uncut. And I dot the filling with butter
before adding the top crust. When I make a pie, I don't futz around
with trying to make it "healthy." Never a disappointing pie, yet.
