There is a huge markup on bottled water and most stores, if they have
any extra shelf space or floor space, seem to want to get in on the
action.

I hate those little bottles of water. I have no use for them at all.
They are too much for one good glug of water, but not enough for a
second one. I am a bottle saver and recycler. The rare time that I get
a bottle of drinking water I rinse it out and refill it from my
distiller or some other good water. I ride my bike to the Y and on hot
days I fill it up at home. When I get to the Y I top it up with the
filtered water in the locker room. You won't catch me paying $1 plus
at the refreshment counter there.
