Flay, Mario, and several others have made guest appearances on Emeril's
show, if that means anything. What would other chefs dislike about
Emeril? (Bourdain, I know, makes several nasty remarks about him in
"Kitchen Confidential".) He's entertaining and has gotten people
interested in cooking, much like Jeff Smith, Julia Child, and the
Galloping Goumet did in years past. I used to dislike him until I
realized that he's primarily an entertainer. Now I just sit back and
enjoy his show when I have nothing better to do.
