Not really, there are certainly Walmart "hot dogs" made from
mechanically separated meat and parts and fillers with added
preservatives for goodness available at everyday low prices and there
are quality hot dogs.

There is a local 3rd generation German butcher shop in a nearby town
that makes fabulous dogs from hand trimmed meat that is smoked with
hardwood in their smoker. It is well worth making a batch of sauce for
those dogs.
