Default Cincinnati Chili Spice Pack ?

Not to add fuel to a dying fire, but...

(this isn't called "chili" but the similarities to Cincinnati chili
are remarkable...)

The Boston Globe Travel section, in this last Sunday's paper, did a
story on the Olneyville neighborhood of Providence, RI. Only in
Olneyville, do you see several small diners with "New York System"
either in their name, or on a sign.

I've had "New York System weiners" which are like small coney island
hot dogs...the "sauce" is rather thick, compared to Cincinnati chili.
Flavor isn't the same, but it's not all that far off.

The "New York System", it turns out, was a 1920s (0r 30s) marketing
gimmick to give the idea that these were like the coney island hot
dogs one might find in New York. The diner owners responsible for
the fad were, according to the Globe, Greek.

(I have, however, heard claims that the "Coney Island" concept has
been traced to both Detroit and Cincinnati...I don't know, by the way,
I just read this stuff...)
