The Kitchen Aid ($200++) because I could buy a cheap ($40) FP later. I
wouldn't use either for pizza dough.

The FP would probably get used more often, if only to slice veggies and
make pesto. But for whipped cream (a twice a year thing for me) the
mixer would be a life (or at least breath) saver. Heck, I've made both
hummus and pesto in a blender, so I could live without either if I had
to.

My latest kitchen purchase was a MicroPlane grater (fine). Just to
justify the cheap whole nutmeg I bought at an asian (yes, the nutmeg
were Mexican) store.
