Apple Crisp
1/2 C. all purpose flour
1 C. brown sugar, packed
1/4 C. shortning
1/4 C. butter or margarine
4 cups peeled, sliced tart apples
Combine flour and brown sugar, then cut in butter and shortening
to make a crumbly mixture. Arrange sliced apples in bottom of greased
shallow baking dish10 x 6.5 x 2 inches, sprinkle sugar mixture over
top and bake in a moderate oven (375° F.) 30 minutes or until top is
golden brown and crunchy and apples are tender. Let cool before
serving.
You could probably add cinnamon to this, but I like it just the way it
is...
