Is it a hard plastic dish that almost looks like a small
pressure cooker without a lid? I had one like that made by
Viking at one point. It built up pressure to the point it
hissed as it steamed the rice. Worked fine but I never saw
another one in the store.

If you have one of those, the usual approach of using more
water and less rice will work just like in a regular pan.

If the dish is flat, maybe just use a thinner layer of brown
rice before adding the water.
