Flax seeds are one of my favorite things for putting on top of breads before
they get baked; I've never had them in a salad. I don't think they taste
like sesame seeds. They do taste a bit nutty to me, though, and baking
brings out that flavor, so maybe they ought to be toasted before sprinkling
them on a salad. I assume you're after the Omega-3 fatty acids?
