What I like for sauce making is to take a big can of whole peeled
tomatoes and put them in the blender, puree for a bit at high, then
dump the whole thing into a sieve. You don't have to do much more than
stir with a wooden spoon to push it through, and it strains out the
seeds. You end up with a fairly liquid pure tomato result.

You can make sauce, add to soups, that sort of thing. Keeps for quite a
while in the refrigerator.
