His ISP didn't zap him. He posted to news via Google and Google zapped
his ability to do so.

I think you're wrong. I believe that the cs.com in his mail address
stands for compuserve. I also think your speculation about using a free
mail account is hooey. I don't know why he chose to use google for
posting to groups. zxcvbob posted the post that got him bounced and it
includes his mail address.
