I've used both a deep dish pizza pan and a stone. But I've always
felt it was too close to the fire. I'm thinking the bricks will do
the trick. I've got a buddie that can probably get me about 8 of them
for nothing next time he does a fireplace. I'll report back someday
with results. LOL
