My parents' gas oven has an auto-off feature and its at least 20 years
old. You twist a little dial on the front of the stove to set the amount
of time and it will turn off after that. The controls for the oven part
are all electric, but the controls for the burners on the gas range part
of it are mechanical. I would be surprised if ovens and ranges that are
being sold now do not have that feature on some models.
