That reminds me, around holidays my father used to make baccala. That
damned cod stunk to high heaven, it was the most abhorent thing I could
think of as a kid.

But then once it got combined with the pickled peppers, etc that was it.
Completely changed the smell and taste.

To this day I love anything pickled.
