Ok, this must be so common. My step-mom couldn't cook to save her life,
wherease my father, paternal grandmother and grandfather, and maternal
grandmother were all fantastic at it.
My maternal grandmother was the roasts, cakes, cookies, candies. My
other grandparents were all the Italian dishes, and my fathers specialty
was soups.
Dad had been married to her for about 2 or so years. One night she makes
this absolutely vile concoction. I was 16 at the time so got up from the
table in disgust.
My father asked me where I was going to which I replied "To get
something to eat." Next thing I know I've got my dad and two step-
sisters in the car with me and we're going out for pizza.
From then on my father made dinner.
