I've never noticed 40" wide as a custom limit at JCP - in any event,
any local shop (check at decorating - paint - shops, as well as home
fashion places) certainly should make drapes to your measurements, and
if you find a sale, they should be reasonable. (Can you use patio
panels? I think they are 96-120" wide. In addition, our Lowe's has a
nice range of drapes.)
I have a JCP sale catalog here - their best-selling antique satin
pinch-pleated drapes are 125" and 150" wide. Some of their thermal
drapes are 125" wide.
