Default Best Oatmeal? Steel cut?

I use the quick oats. My method is to bring the water to a boil in
microwave, then pour it into a bowl with the oats in it (plus some
salt, sweetener and perhaps cinnamon). I let that sit until the water
is just absorbed. The oats retain a nice texture, and it's pretty quick.
