Charlie Gitto's was a favorite of Tommy Lasorda, he'd eat there when the
Dodgers were in town. There's a tale of Tommy consuming an enormous
pasta dinner at Charlie's, then going out to pitch batting practice
prior to a mid-summer game (oh the heat) at Busch stadium. It was
reported later that he "didn't feel well."
