I have heard that... Seems older guns, dry firing tends to damage the
firing pin.
Most practice recommendations using dummy rounds.
Same for "jam" practice. Stick a dummy round at random in the magazine
so that you have to "clear" it.
I have one bad magazine for my .40 that has a weak spring, so mis-feeds
at random and always on the last bullet. I have it well marked for
practice only, and do use it. ;-)
