It's not a salad, it's a potato system
Hark! I heard (Curly Sue) say:

Hmmm, a potato-enhancement system, designed to increase palatability?
Goes great with my chicken-frying system. ;-)
ObFood: Going to a family BBQ on a lake today -- now that the storm
is gone, we've got excellent weather for it. I'm going to take some
baked beans (recipe given to me by a good friend):
Baked Beans
48 oz. can Pork & Beans
2 T. prepared mustard
1¼ C. brown sugar
¾ C. ketchup
1 lb. bacon, cut into small pieces
½ C. BBQ sauce (optional)
Preheat oven to 325° F. Grease bean pot. Add all ingredients
and stir well. Cook for 4-5 hours. Stir several times while
cooking.
Not exactly home made, but still quite tasty...
