Mmmmm! It's an old favorite ours too. You *must* make reservations
these days though. You can't walk in and expect a table before 9 or

Scoma's isn't high on my list because you need to take out a bank loan
first and IMO the food is barely mediocre. If I go there, which is
very rare - I'll eat at the one in Sausalito. For seafood, I'd rather
go to pier 39 and eat at Pier Market.

Have you tried North Beach Restaurant in (where else) North Beach?
There are a bunch of good restaurants ringing Washington Square.
