By the way, I'm familiar with the safety mechanism on the gas
regulator. If I turn off the valve, open a burner, and then turn on
the valve, I heard a clicking sound, and only a tiny amount of gas
comes out. So, having successfully replicated that symptom, I'm sure
that is not the problem.

Also, this is a liquid propane grill...
