Have you never been on the receiving end of a cupboard cleaning from
someone's move?

I've 'inherited' some strange food-like items when a friend or
neighbour moved out of town and didn't want to bother packing the few
odds and ends in the kitchen cupboard.

Sometimes I've been lucky, sometimes not. I finally through out the
pickled herring in some kind of cream sauce but the sugary breakfast
cereal actually made a nice snacking item when reading.
