It was a holiday season some years ago and we were invited to a
friends' place. Extremely nice people but not cooks. They served us,
among other things too ordinary to remember, a casserole they made of
canned green beans, canned cream of mushroom soup, canned fried onion
bits, and who knows what else. It was awful but they said it was a
tradition in their family. -aem
