One of the good changes I have seen during my 20+ years living in North
Carolina is that asking for unsweetened tea in a restaurant usually gets
it rather than a "what planet are YOU from" look.

The traditional recipe for southern sweet tea:

5 gallons of water
5 lbs of sugar
1 tea bag.
