My BIL used to live in Bangkok, in an apartment. The water tank was on
the roof. By the end of the day, both sides were hot.

Last I heard, he lived in a village in the Philippines. No plumbing.
The toilet was a hole in the ground. The spring was used as the water
supply, and for washing and bathing. The women all bathed together,
once a week, with their clothes on. The men bathed together once a
week, but a different day, with their clothes on.
