I know. A few years ago, my doctor found exactly the kind of lump they
say is bad news--very hard, like a peanut, deep in the breast tissue. I had
an ultrasound and they said they saw no sign of cancer.

The next year, no lump AT ALL, no ultrasound was even necessary.

Point is, I did not find the hard lump, for the reason you state above.

Women like us who have thickened breasts and feel we cannot really
do effective exams really should get regular exams.
