It is certainly one of the tastiest, and one which is most definitely best
eating ASAP after being harvested. I have a friend who bought a small farm
near here that had 2 acres of asparagus in the front field. He hates
asparagus so he plowed it under. It took him a few tries to get rid of it,
but he did eventually eliminate it. What a shame.
