Default TN: '01 R&V Dauvissat Chablis GC

Tonight, with a whipped together paella dinner, we opened a bottle of:

2001 René & Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 'Les Preuses'
color: pale golden yellow
nose: initially, a huge whack of lemon, subsiding to reveal stones with
a touch of iodine and toast
palate: med-full body, rounded, good acidity, moderately fruity,
minerals in the finish

This bottle was opened in part to see if Jean was interested in
purcasing some aged Chablis. Despite its being a grand cru, the '01 was
chosen to allow our '00 and '02 bottles a bit more time to come around.
I'd say that this wine needs another 4-5 years to show its best, but
even now it's pretty tasty -- enough so that Jean's now interested in
trying more aged Chablis. :-)
