I don't know about where Omelet lives but around here unless you're in the
military you can't be licensed to carry a firearm at the age of 18. I'm not
about to suggest someone obtain a gun illegally and not go through formal
training (and continued training) about how to use one.
I understand OM is licensed to carry; she's obviously had some training.
This isn't the movies where a cop just hands a civilian a gun (let alone
drag one along with them) and says, "Don't be afraid to pull the trigger".
Real life doesn't work that way.
