Default Thanks everyone parched corn!

I've compiled information from both the web link I posted with my inquiry
and all of your replies (except for yours, Pat/Cyrambers - that will be a
surprise!). I talked with him and he said the only locally grown corn is
white (Silver Queen) but he thinks he might be able to find some field corn.
I teased him, he might have to buy a quantity large enough to have a couple
of cows out on the golf course behind their house. He thought that was a
funny and advanced the idea they might be able to reduce the greens fees but
putting around cows could be a problem! LOL He thinks maybe regular yellow
corn, dried, will work if he can't find field corn in a small quantity.

Turns out it wasn't his grandmother who made this for him. It was a great
uncle he was visiting. This uncle had lost part of an arm in a threshing
machine of some sort. You've heard about pirates with hooks, of course. He
said this uncle had a short hook (knife) at the end of his prothsteses on
the outer side and a longer fork on the inside! Talk about ingenuity!

Anyway, thanks to everyone. I'm going to print all the information and drop
it in the mail to him. The information is much appreciated.

Jill
