We are thinking of getting a new gas range, and are looking at Viking/
Thermidor and Wolf in the wishlist range and Bosch, Maytag in the
'reality check' range -
either way my main concern on the new ranges is that none of them seem
to have burner grates that are as easy and light to clean as my 20
year old kenmore.
I can lift the burner grates with a finger and drop it in the
dishwasher and it comes out clean.
I also dislike the rough castiron finish on the new ranges I have
looked at. The old kenmore grates are clad with some shiny smooth to
touch material- kind of feels like enamel, and a seperate one for each
bruner

Are there any new ranges/brands with burner grates that are
a) light
b) covered with the mentioned smooth enamel like coating
c) seperate for each burner ?

I tried the heavy stuff and I know I wont clean it if it weighs a ton
