No argument there, but the last compressor worked for 20 years. :-)
This is a used unit...

As long as I take good care of it and it does not spring leaks,
maintenance should be good for awhile. It's been 2 years now since it
needed service. The last freon leak was just a loose joining so it did
not need soldering.

I use that same concept with cars. When annual repairs get to be higher
than making car payments...
