It's an interesting question. We've been discussing and debating on
rfc for many years by now.

Have we solved any global problems yet? World hunger or the issue of
menu planning from local ingredients in the face of escalating
transportation costs would seem to be appropriate for rfc. Bridges
and the Middle East are beyond our charter area

(It would be an interesting research project to see whether any of the
endless chat and blogging on the internet has solved any social ills
at all.)
