Yes they do ask for it and yes they are serious, but not regarding cooking

BTW, this evening I'll be at a friend's house and will cook her a
Stroganoff, which I have perfected thanks to a nice russian cook I met this
summer. Next week I'll be at the cook's house to cook her a bolognese ragout
and make some egg tagliatelle from scratch.
