There is nothing to be afraid of.... other than the cost of good vanilla.
It is easy enough to heat up the milk and cream, beat together the eggs,
sugar and vanilla, temper the egg mixture, add it to the hot cream and cook
on low heat for four minutes. Let it cool overnight and then into the
machine in the morning for about 25 minutes. Put it into a container and
into the freezer to set. It doesn't take much time and it makes great ice
cream.
