McD's employee jailed - for over-salty burger...
I'm coming late to this thread and have some questions.
How could the officer tell the burger was too salty? A Big Mac has 1090
mg of sodium to start. Complaining about added salt to a Big Mac is
like complaining about extra fat in bacon or too much sugar in soda. Or
complaining that they put water in that bottle of water.
What sort of illness did the officer suffer? Wouldn't too much salt
just make the average person thirsty? If blood pressure is at issue, he
wouldn't have been eating the burger in the first place. And he
certainly wouldn't have had time to ask the questions and make the
arrest before getting checked out in the hospital.
Reckless conduct? Can police officers be brought before a disciplinary
board for abuse of power? Or sued for wrongful arrest? I can
understand a complaint. I wish even fast food workers (includes the
supervisor) would do a better job too, but how do you get reckless
conduct out of that?
The article was so unbelievable that I checked Snopes. They have a link
to it as an oddity, but true.
