No. They are not "at least as bad as other saturated fats, and maybe
worse." They are WAY, WAY WORSE! What you wrote is what so many
people commonly believe, or at least used to believe. A stick of
butter is probably better for you than a little pat of stick
margarine, and butter is immensely pleasurable.

It is ridiculous that they still allow that crap in food.
